Microsoft Directshow 5 Cakewalk

DirectShow Error w/Pacific Soundcraft LimiterI downloaded and installed this limiter today to use with Cakewalk Music Creator 2003 (and Pyro on occasion). I use a Compaq Presario 2100 laptop for MC. The limiter downloaded fine and I can mess around with it when I call it up as an effect on a Music Creator Track.

However, when I I hit the preview, or the apply button, I get the following error:DirectShow Error: 0x80040022AThis filter does not support the current audio format. It may require a different number of channels (e.g.

Stereo instead of mono) or a different sample rate. After reading past posts, I went to download the Microsoft DirectX 9.0 SDK April update, and after installation, I'm still getting the DirectShow error. At this point I am lost, and don't know what to do. I want to be able to use this limiter as I'm almost finished mastering a song of mine, and I believe this will be the final step.Hoping someone will know the answer.Adam.

' And I wanted to know something abvout the framerate of the video stream of the webcam which is initially about 30 fps. Would the framerate of the video change while receiving the video stream over network?' That is up to you. You would specify framerate in the sourcefilter recieving the samples. It will call the server with the sample grabber as it needs them(buffered mode), and provide correct time stamping for the network output desired.' Is there any Directshow filters for Shoutcast streaming??'

I put together a quickly written example showing how to extract frame data, format subtype, as well as open a socket port to recieve the video stream from the encoder/streamer programs provided by nullsoft. It is placed inside the 'vcam' sample. At winamp.com in the streaming video forum, look for topic ' Video, from NSVcap to graph edit'. Source code to filter is there. Time stamping is incorect in that sample. There isnt a filter based mux encoder at this time, however the encoding dlls are available and the format is a cakewalk. Winsock libraries and the sample grabber is the quickest solution. You can pretty much cut and paste the server /client sample code in the msdn library for winsock2, The server listening for the client.

Client sends hello, server sends samplegrabber buffer. Make a class that handles the client code and add it to pushsource sample.Inside 'Fillbuffer' send the hello and fill the buffer with the payload.Trick is to configure the sample grabber media type to the type specified in the push source filter, including the FourCC in the subtype field so the appropriate decompressor is used.Or you could just use Shoutcast streaming video for compression, distribution, and recieve it from the distribution server into another tweeked pushsource filter, again using winsock2.
